...the interplay of light and shade
Pedometer 3
December 18, 2008I ended the day (December 17) with 6,535 steps, burning 228.76 kilocalories. I am supposed to do 10,000 steps. The 6,500 steps took increments of minutes accumulating to an hour of walking. I suppose, to get the targeted 10,000 steps, 2 hours of walking is a must. I wonder where will I go to get those steps?…
Pedometer 2
December 17, 2008I am literally watching every step I make. Yes, you read it right…I am using my trusty pedometer. With a reasonable price of P910, I purchased a pedometer from Toby’s. Reasonable I say because the others cost around P1500 to P2100. I just do hope I will use this for a very long time. Since I’m hopelessly not a techie, I coerced my hubby to do the settings in my pedometer.
The step watching begins today. If I follow the rules to the dot, I should do 10,00 steps. As I am writing this piece, my pedometer pathetically registers the 692 steps I took. I burned only 24 kilo calories. This only means I really have to walk around the block before the day ends. I desperately need to catch up with the remaining 9,308 steps.
I am seriously following the 10,000 steps rule to see if it really works. Experts say, though it is still much argued about, 10,000 is the way to keep one fit and healthy. Of course, this has to be done gradually. 3,000 steps a day for the first week; 6,000 steps a day for the second week; 9,000 steps for the 3rd week; And so forth and so on. I will try to do this pedometer thing for a month. If I lose weight, then my search for the right regimen is over….
